This course provides graduates with a qualification to teach information technology in high schools. Students can select a second teaching area from listed specialist electives according to their interest and employment needs.
The education component is practice focused with students undertaking professional experience in schools and other learning sites. Students are also encouraged to undertake field/professional experience in remote schools. External students can normally complete their professional experience in their home towns.
Indigenous perspectives are a particular focus of the Education component. Students can undertake studies in Indigenous languages and literacy as well as examining specific strategies for enhancing educational outcomes for Indigenous learners.
