About this course

Our degree in Contemporary Communication Design offers: A collaborative multidisciplinary foundation year that reflects real world practice Flexible delivery which includes online and face-to-face workshop intensives Opportunities to specialise in either Communication Design or User Experience Design (UX) and Digital Media Internship and industry placement opportunities Work integrated learning design studio to learn the tools of the tradeStudio | Forum | Collaborative Workshop In your first year, you will learn key skills across core creative practices to maximise your capacity to thrive in today’s diverse creative industry. Explore who you are and how you express yourself as a creative practitioner. Build your skills through practical multidisciplinary studio based workshops of experimentation and self-discovery in collaboration with students from performing and visual arts. Project Based | Design Led The second and third years of this program offer a blended mode of learning, which includes online and face-to-face workshop intensives. Whether working individually or collaboratively in our creative studio environment or online, you will acquire the skills to be an innovative and adaptable designer. Internships and professional studiobased opportunities also offer you real-life experience throughout the second and third years of the program. Grounded through multi-disciplinary and design studio practice, you will have the opportunity to specialise in one of two design pathways. Communication Design: Push your creative limits and explore the world's problems through your design thinking and artistic skills. Immerse yourself in the design process through this specialisation, and communicate your innovative ideas via visual media. User Experience Design (UX) and Digital Media: If you are a people person, explore the practice of designing experiences for others. This field of design requires you to understand the consumer experience, and translate it into an interactive digital solution.
