About this course

This course will only be available for continuing students. Prospective students wishing to study Occupational Therapy should apply for the Bachelor of Applied Science and Master of Occupational Therapy Practice. Students who originally enrolled at the Albury-Wodonga, Mildura and Shepparton campuses will have officially relocated to the Bendigo Campus to complete second, third and fourth years (per original offer of enrolment). In the second year of study, students are introduced to concepts of participation in occupation through a service learning subject in local schools, and further explore human biosciences and public health aspects of human health. Studies include sociology of health and illness and integrating research evidence into practice. Students also take one elective from anywhere in the University in years one and two of the course. In both years three and four, students study occupational therapy through a curriculum centred on a hybrid model of problem-based learning (PBL). PBL is an instructional strategy in which students learn, through contextualised problems, and strive to find meaningful solutions to the range of complex human problems manifest in health care settings. During these two years, students will undertake placements in clinical settings.
