About this course

The Juris Doctor is a three-year, Masters level law degree designed for those who have already completed a Bachelor's degree in another discipline. Delivered online, the Juris Doctor enables student flexibility in pursuing a law degree using the latest education technologies to keep you connected and engaged. With an emphasis on practical legal problem-solving and problem prevention, the Juris Doctor will ground legal education in the broader social, historical and economic context and support students' development as socially responsible and ethical professionals. Featuring small class sizes and highly qualified and experienced staff, students will:

  • Develop their advocacy abilities and a wide range of professional legal skills.
  • Through UC's close connections with industry, the legal profession and community partners, students will have the opportunity to build their professional network and apply their talents in the real world by completing a law internship or research project.
  • Students can also tailor their individual program of study by selecting from a variety of electives from different areas of law with a particular focus on technology, innovation and dispute resolution.

The UC Juris Doctor meets the accreditation requirements of the ACT Legal Practitioners Admission Board, which will enable admission as a legal practitioner and mutual recognition throughout Australia.
