Public relations professionals play a key role in the modern business world but their skills are also valued by government departments and the not-for-profit sector. A Bachelor of Arts with a major in Public Relations will teach you a range of useful skills, including corporate communications, event handling, crisis management and e-public relations -- all essential for good reputational management.
Academic requirements for this program are outlined below. In addition, to be eligible for admission, all applicants need to satisfy minimum requirements outlined at admission requirements. These include those relating to age and English Language Proficiency. We also consider your application more broadly - your non-academic achievements (such as any previous leadership roles, volunteering, work, church and/or community involvement) as well as personal qualities - your aspirations and interests and your capacity to complete your chosen program.
Applicants with recent Secondary Education
Applicants with Higher Education Study
Applicants who have successfully completed subjects at another University, which are relevant to the selected program of study, may be eligible for Advanced Standing.
Applicants with Vocational Education and Training (VET) study

Applicants with relevant work and life experience who left secondary education more than two years ago and have not undertaken VET or higher education study since then may seek admission on the basis of:
Public relations is now an essential part of business life and its practitioners are expected to communicate with a wide range of people, including employees, the media, consumers and external stakeholders. Apart from high-quality written and oral communication, PR professionals need to be adept at event management, marketing, social media and crisis management.
Our major in Public Relations is designed for those who would like to pursue a career in the demanding world of corporate communications or an allied field such as event management, media relations or speechwriting. Available as a second Major as part of your Bachelor of Arts degree, you will explore topics such as business research, public relations writing, issues and crisis management, event management and electronic public relations.
While many graduates will find employment in the private sector, the skills you attain during this program are also in high demand by government, politicians and the non-for-profit sector.

Plus an additional eight subjects for a primary Arts major* plus four electives (undertaken during Years One, Two and/or Three).
*The Public Relations major may only be undertaken as a second major (i.e. an Arts Major must be selected as the first Major).
