Entry to the Master of Health Promotion program requires completion of a recognised Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognised higher education institution. If you have a Bachelor degree in the same discipline you may be eligible to receive credit of up to 48 units (4 courses).

Non-graduates with extensive relevant industry experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

To be considered for admission, candidates would normally be required to possess an undergraduate degree from a recognised higher education institution with a technology related field, or successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security.

To be eligible for admission to a research Master degree, an applicant must hold:

(a) a Bachelor degree (AQF Level 7) with a Grade Point Average of 5.0 or higher on a seven point scale from a recognised higher education institution; or

(b) a Bachelor Honours degree (AQF Level 8) Class IIB from a recognised higher education institution; or

(c) a record of qualifications and/or professional research experience deemed to be equivalent to the standard of (a) or (b) as may be approved by the Research Degrees Committee, or the Chairperson acting on behalf of the Committee.

The prior study must be in an area of study relevant to the discipline area of the Master degree. If the prior study has not included an appropriate preparation in research methodology, the candidate will be required to undertake an appropriate research methodology course, as specified by the relevant Head of School, as part of their candidature.

The admission requirements for a specific Master degree may include additional requirements, such as a Bachelor degree in the relevant discipline, professional registration, a specified number of years of professional practice, or other requirements indicative of a suitable preparation to undertake a research program at Master level. Additional requirements should be discussed with your proposed supervision team prior to applying.

Students whose first language in not English must meet the minimum English requirements, being IELTS 6.5 (minimum of 6 in all subtests) or equivalent for other English proficiency tests.

Recommended prior study

General Maths, Maths Methods or Specialist Maths

To be eligible for admission to a doctoral degree, an applicant must hold:

(a) a Bachelor Honours degree (AQF Level 8) with a significant research component with a minimum of Class IIA from a recognised higher education institution; or

(b) a Masters degree (AQF Level 9) with a significant research component equivalent to Honours degree research component from a recognised higher education institution; or

(c) a Bachelor degree (AQF Level 7) from a recognised higher education institution, and shall have achieved by subsequent work and study a standard equivalent to at least Class IIA Honours as may be approved by the Research Degrees Committee, or the Chairperson acting on behalf of the Committee; or

(d) a record of research or professional qualifications deemed by the Research Degrees Committee, or the Chairperson acting on behalf of the Committee, to be of a standard equivalent to at least Bachelors Honours degree Class IIA and providing a suitable background for the doctoral research the candidate is proposing to undertake.

In addition to this, applicants undertaking a PhD in creative arts are required to:

(e) provide a portfolio containing evidence of the applicant's own original work which is assessed by the Head of School, as providing evidence of very high levels of creativity, knowledge and skill in one or more creative areas.

Students must complete 60 days of suitable engineering work experience.

Candidates for the award of Master of Education are normally required to hold:

• a 4-year bachelor degree (AQF Level 7 or equivalent) qualification from a recognised tertiary institution or equivalent in the education discipline, or
• Graduate Certificate in Education (AQF Level 8 or equivalent), or similar qualification

Students that have a 3-year bachelor degree in the education discipline or a bachelor degree qualification in a discipline other than education, entry to the Master of Education can be through the completion of the Graduate Certificate in Education, or similar qualification.

Students admitted to the program on the basis of completion of the Graduate Certificate in Education will not be eligible for credit.

• AQF Level 7 Bachelor of Nursing award
• Applicants who are Registered Nurses registered with AHPRA who do not have a bachelor-level qualification may be considered for admission based on extensive industry experience and will require approval by the Program Leader.

All applicants must either be able to declare that English is their primary language (ie they have attended and satisfactorily completed at least six years of primary and secondary education taught and assessed solely in English. At least two years of this education must have been between grades 7 and 12. This education must have been completed in one of the following countries: Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, South Africa, United Kingdom, or United States of America.); or they must attain an Academic IELTS score of at least 7.0 with a minimum of 7.0 in each subtest (obtained within two years prior to the commencement of the program). • Completion of a recognised Bachelor degree from a recognised higher education institution, or equivalent.
• Students admitted to the program with a completed AQF level 7 Bachelor degree or equivalent in Business are eligible to have the volume of learning in this program reduced by 48 units.
• Applicants from a non-English speaking background must demonstrate an appropriate level of English proficiency. Refer to the English language requirements

To be considered for admission candidates would normally be required to possess an undergraduate degree (AQF Level 7) qualification from a recognised higher education institution or equivalent*.

*Applicants who do not possess an undergraduate degree but have 5 years relevant work experience or other relevant experience may be admitted to the program.
