Duplicating jobs and bringing back start dates in titles🎉

Employers can now create a new job by duplicating an existing job! The start date of a job will also now be included in the title.

Save time by duplicating a job ⌛

We’re excited to announce that recruiters can now create new jobs on Prosple by duplicating an existing job! This has been one of the most requested employer features for some time, so we’re thrilled to release this ‎️‍🔥.

Start dates automatically appended to job titles

We’ve also changed the way job titles work on Prosple. To make it easier for both students and employers to distinguish between roles that might otherwise have the same name, we’re now automatically appending the start date to the title of your role.

But why…?

If you’re thinking this sounds familiar, then you’re not going crazy. Pre-2022 we required employers to include the starting year of their program in the title.

For the last 2 years, however, we’ve been asking employers to re-use their annual jobs (and hence keep the date/year out of title). This had some SEO benefits and saved some of you time, but it has also caused new challenges:

  1. Employers couldn’t easily distinguish applicants or compare performance between successive years
  2. Students couldn’t easily apply for the same program two years in a row

We researched several alternative solutions (for example introducing cohorts) and user tested these with many of you, but unfortunately none of them provided a perfect solution.

We have therefore decided to revert our policy and encourage recruiters to create a new job each time they open their graduate or internship program.

How will it work going forward?

To make this easier, we’re timing this policy change with the release of the “duplicate” feature. This means in one click you can copy an existing job and tweak the details to prepare it for a new year.

Once you post your job, we’ll automatically append the start date in Mmm YYYY format to the job title.

For example, “Accounting Internship” will now be “Accounting Internship (July 2025)”.

This will help employers and students distinguish between jobs in the employer hub and on Prosple respectively. For example, instead of seeing this:

You will now see:

We apologise for the inconvenience we’ve caused by reversing our policy, but we’re confident it takes us back to a better and simpler place 💪.
