A candidate shall:

(a) hold an AQF Level 5 Diploma or an AQF Level 6 Advanced Diploma qualification from: a Vocational Education Training (VET) Community Services Package; or from a Vocational Education Training (VET) Health Training Package in one of the following areas: Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Care; Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice; Nursing. You must meet a minimum standard in English to study at Murdoch, which for most courses can be demonstrated by providing evidence that you have completed Year 11 and 12 in Australia at any level if you are a domestic student, or through either English proficiency tests, university preparation courses, English language courses, previous tertiary study or vocational education.

This program is designed to provide students with an opportunity to undertake advanced study and supervised research work in the specialisation defined by their undergraduate degree program within the context of a multidisciplinary cohort.
Entry Requirements

The criteria for admission to this Honours program are:

  • successful completion of a Bachelor of Human Services program or an equivalent qualification
  • a GPA of at least 5.0 over the second and third year of the Bachelor degree - a candidate whose level of achievement falls below this level may apply in writing for special consideration
  • the suitability of the proposed dissertation topic, the resources available to support the candidature and the availability of appropriate supervision
  • the preparedness of the applicant to undertake the degree in terms of the elapsed time since the prospective candidate qualified for the award of a Bachelor degree and the academic preparation provided by the bachelors degree for the candidate's proposed dissertation topic.

Entry requirements

For entry into most USC undergraduate degree programs, you need to have completed a minimum level of education similar to successful completion of Australian Year 12 with good grades.

Further studies, for example, a semester or more at college or university, can also be considered for entry and may give you credit transfer towards a degree.

Some examples of upper secondary qualifications and a guide to the minimum grades that USC will consider are listed here. These are minimum requirements and do not guarantee entry. Some programs may require higher grades. Alternative qualifications may also be considered on a case by case basis.
