This qualification will provide you with the skills and knowledge to be competent in a range of Mobile Plant Technology roles. You will gain and apply a broad set of skills and knowledge on a variety of mobile plant vehicles in the automotive service and repair industry.
Entry Requirements
Early in the course your skills will be assessed - if you cannot read and write documents and complete maths work to the level needed you will be enrolled into additional subjects to help you build the skills needed to successfully complete the course.
If you are entering this course as an apprentice/trainee you must: - be employed in the auto industry - be an Apprentice or Trainee under the Australian Apprenticeship Scheme (AAS) and be registered with an Apprentice Network Provider (ANP) prior to enrolment.
If you already have skills in this area, you may seek recognition for all or part of this course.
This course covers metal fabrication and welding skills that are required for employment within our local and regional industry. You will gain the skills and knowledge required of an engineering tradesperson within the light or heavy fabrication trades including welding and fabrication, e.g.

AND
- be an Apprentice or Trainee under the Australian Apprenticeship Scheme (AAS) and be registered with an Apprentice Network Provider (ANP) prior to enrolment
Additional Information: This qualification may also be achieved through other pathways which do not involve a contract of training, such as recognition of prior learning. In all cases achievement or recognition of competence is necessary in all of the required units of competency to be awarded a national qualification
This course will give you the engineering skills and knowledge required for an engineering draftsperson producing engineering drawings or a technical officer involved in basic project management, procurement and sales within an engineering or manufacturing work environment.
Entry Requirements
To be successful in this course, it is recommended that you have appropriate numeracy skills. On entry, you may need to demonstrate this by undertaking a numeracy assessment. You may be required to undertake additional Foundation Skills subjects to support your learning in this course.
