BUILD A BODY OF RESEARCH. Following on from the Bachelor of Sport Development, this Honours degree allows you to undertake advanced study and supervised research work.
Entry Requirements
The University's Bachelor Honours Degree (AQF Level 8) Policy will apply.
To be eligible for admission to this Honours program, consideration will be given to the following criteria:
successful completion of the Bachelor of Sport Development or an equivalent qualification
a GPA of at least 5.0 over the second and third year of the Bachelor degree
the preparedness of the applicant to undertake the degree in terms of the elapsed time since the prospective candidate qualified for the award of a bachelor degree and the academic preparation provided by the bachelor degree for the candidate's proposed dissertation topic.
The Program Director will take the following into consideration when assessing applications for admission:
the suitability of the proposed dissertation topic; and
the resources available to support the candidature including availability of appropriate supervision.

You'll learn about sport development, business management and delivering recreation activities in the community. This degree explores four main streams of study: sport and exercise science; business, sport management and marketing; health promotion; and sports coaching.

This degree includes advanced coursework in the exercise sciences, combined with a minimum of 500 hours of professional practice. You'll be prepared for work in a range of professional areas as a dual-accredited Exercise Scientist and Exercise Physiologist.

This program is quota managed for which there is a limited number of places available to ensure that sufficient resources are available to support the students. Meeting the admission requirements for this program may not result in an applicant receiving an admission offer.
Griffith students may not apply for the Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology program by submitting an internal transfer.
Mode On Campus and Remote Due to current travel restrictions, this program will temporarily be delivered using a mixture of on-campus, remote and multi-modal classes to support and engage all students, from all parts of the world.
You will gain a strong foundation in the physical and biomedical sciences, as well as practical business and management skills and knowledge. You will develop an understanding of how both our bodies and the sports industry work.

This program is designed to provide students with an opportunity to undertake advanced study and supervised research work in the specialisation defined by their undergraduate degree program within the context of a multidisciplinary cohort.

The criteria for admission to this Honours program are:
successful completion of the Griffith Bachelor of Exercise Science or an equivalent qualification from another university and
a GPA of at least 5.0 over the second and third year of the Bachelor degree.

the suitability of the proposed dissertation topic, the resources available to support the candidature and the availability of appropriate supervision and
the preparedness of the applicant to undertake the degree in terms of the elapsed time since the prospective candidate qualified for the award of a Bachelor degree and the academic preparation provided by the Bachelor degree for the candidate's proposed dissertation topic.
You will gain the skills and knowledge in the physical, biomedical and psychological sciences that you will need to become an exercise specialist. You will learn the role of exercise in health maintenance and rehabilitation.
