CQUniversity provides English language courses for international students from non-English speaking backgrounds. Courses include EAP (English for Academic Purposes) and IELTS Preparation. English for Academic Purposes (EAP) classes are intended for students who want to learn academic English.

Entry Requirements

EAP1: IELTS 5.0 (with no individual band score of less than 4.5) or equivalent; or successful completion of GE3

EAP2: IELTS 5.5 (with no individual band score of less than 5.0) or equivalent; or successful completion of EAP1

EAP3: IELTS 6.0 (with no individual band score of less than 5.5) or equivalent; or successful completion of EAP2

IELTS Preparation: at least IELTS 4.5 (with no individual band score of less than 4.0) or equivalent

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements but you should be from a non-English speaking background and over 18 years old.

Entry into the Course in Initial EAL will be determined according to your current English language skills - an initial assessment will be conducted.

Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and pre-training interview.
