About this course

Our Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Skill Set course will give you a broad insight into the related fields of addiction, mental health, behaviour change, public health and community development.This course is designed for both new entrants in this field of expertise or for existing industry workers that wish to broaden their scope of skills and knowledge in this specialised field.

The Alcohol and Other Drugs Skill Set (AOD) will give you specialised skills to recognise and work effectively with clients who experience alcohol and/or other drug issues. You will gain insight on how to provide a range of services and implement relevant health programs and interventions within the community.

Entry requirements

Prospective students are able to enrol into the CHCSS00093 Alcohol and Other Drugs Skill Set course if they are 18 years or over and meet one of the following entry requirements:

Completed Year 12 or Equivalent or a Certificate III or higher

Your Language Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills must meet the required standards for ACSF LEVEL 3 or higher.

1. Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs
Students who successfully complete this Skill Set course will receive 4 unit credits in our Certificate IV course.
CHC43215 Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs with ACCLM. Students who successfully complete this Skill Set course will receive 4 unit credits in the Certificate IV course.

2. Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management
Bachelor of Community Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs
