About this scholarship

Overview

Each year the Australian National University will offer a number of scholarships to assist students in financial need from outside of the Canberra region who are commencing a degree program at the Australian National University. The scholarships aim to assist students with the accommodation expenses associated with relocating to Canberra to commence at the ANU.

Eligibility

Applicants for the scholarship must meet the eligibility requirements set out in the relevant conditions of award including:

be an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa
has relocated to Canberra to take up a place in a degree program at the Australian National University
be enrolled as a full-time student in the first year of an approved undergraduate degree program at the Australian National University
be able to provide evidence of financial need.

Selection for each scholarship will be made on the basis of financial need. Other factors such as home location, school attended and refugee status may be taken into account

  • $5,000 per annum
  • Payments made per semester
  • Payments made for 1 year

Benefits

$5,000. The scholarship will be paid in equal instalments in semester 1 and semester 2. The second payment in semester 2 will be subject to satisfactory academic progress.
