About this course

BIM for Environmental Sustainability Assessment

A lack of interest in or understanding of the importance of sustainability in modern construction and infrastructure development is a recipe for career failure. The same might soon be said about lack of understanding of the full range of openBIM technologies. The BIM for Environment Sustainability Assessment course will ensure that learners are never labelled in either of the above categories.

In this course, you will learn essential environmental sustainability assessment tools used in the openBIM environment, and on completion of the course, will have a good understanding of energy performance analyses, carbon omission analyses, solar radiation and lighting analyses, natural ventilation system analyses and water acoustics analyses, as well as thermal comfort control and acoustics analyses. These skills, combined with the ability to analyse energy embedded in materials used for project design, will equip you with the requisite knowledge and skills for a successful career in construction and infrastructure industries that are increasingly defined by rapidly emerging openBIM technologies.

The BIM for Environment Sustainability Assessment course is

one of
twelve specialised BIM microcredentials available.
