This course prepares you to work in a variety of health settings, including hospitals, aged care, primary health and mental health. Upon successful completion of this qualification, you may apply to the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) to be considered for registration as an Enrolled Nurse.

English language skills requirements - Nursing (PDF 232Kb)

You must:

  • Have completed Year 12 (within the last 10 years at an accredited or tertiary level) with at least a C grade average in English and Maths or successfully completed the LLN test (ACSF level 4).
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a current clear Working with Vulnerable People Card
  • Have a current clear Australian Federal Police Check - Code 08 - Hospital Employment
    Please note a police check with a disclosure may prevent Industry Placement and therefore affect your entry and/or progress in the course
  • Have an up to date immunisation/vaccination record - Vaccination Card (PDF 289Kb)
  • Have basic computer skills
  • Letter from your General Practitioner stating your fitness to undertake nursing duties - please use letter from this link GP letter (PDF 227Kb)
  • A current First Aid Certificate
  • All students are now required by ACT Health to have the Influenza vaccine
