The COVID-19 pandemic is an evolving situation which has highlighted the importance of preventing infection through strict hygiene practices and by following other health guidelines. In Western Australia, trained and skilled aged care and disability workers are in high demand now and will continue to be as we move into the recovery phase of the pandemic.
In this course you will learn about the basis of infection from viruses to bacteria as well as modes of transmission, infection prevention and control - including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) - and handling contaminated waste. You will gain the skills you need to deliver care and support, utilise infection control measures and safe manual handling techniques.
