You will gain the knowledge and skills to work effectively in the aged care industry or disability sector, caring, enabling people to maintain independence. You will gain an understanding about supporting people with dementia, safety procedures, ethical behaviour, infection control, working with cultural diversity, and workplace health and safety.
You will develop the skills and knowledge required to provide personal, physical and emotional support to people who require assistance with daily living, including the elderly and people with disabilities.

Entry requirements to Certificate III must be met. The equivalent developed skills in literacy and numeracy are required to meet industry standards. School Leaver- OLNA or NAPLAN 9 Band 8; Non-School Leaver- C Grades in Year 10 English and Maths or equivalent; AQF- Certificate I or Certificate Il. Students can use the LLN Robot to ensure that they meet the literacy and numeracy requirements.
Learners must be 18 years or older at time of commencing placement.
