If you're passionate about improving your service delivery to your Aged Care clients, you've come to the right place..

When you complete the Certificate IV in Ageing Support you will be ready to work in the Aged Care workplace in a more informed and confident manner and provide excellent care for your clients. This qualification will provide with you with an excellent understanding of consumer directed care and will allow you to provide better services to your clients and the organisations you work for. You will gain advanced skills in client care and planning, navigating legal and ethical considerations in an Aged Care workplace and an increased knowledge of falls prevention and other complex health issues.

Entry requirements

School Leaver Non-School Leaver AQF
C Grades in Year 11 WACE General English, and OLNA; or NAPLAN 9 Band 8 C Grades in Year 11 English and Maths or equivalent Certificate II or Certificate III

Learners must be 18 years or older at time of commencing placement.

Students must provide a National Police Clearance that does not identify any offences that would prevent the student from working in the Aged or Disability care sector.

Depending on placement agencies, you may be asked to provide a Working with Children's Check.

To enrol, you must be physically fit to perform physical duties associated with providing personal care and domestic support including but not limited to:

  • Manual handling tasks such as hoisting and transferring
  • Assisting with personal care tasks such as showering and feeding
  • Assisting with domestic duties such as cleaning and making beds

To support your application, you may be asked to provide a medical clearance to support your application.

  • Students may be asked to provide evidence of immunisation status and may be required to have additional immunisations depending on the placement agencies requirements.
  • All students must provide evidence of current influenza vaccination.
  • All students must provide evidence of two doses of COVID 19 vaccination.
  • All students must provide NDIS worker screening check

Students will also be required to attend Skills Workshops at Geraldton Campus. If students are unable to attend workshops alternative arrangements may be made with the lecturer.

Entry requirements to this course must be met. The entry requirements are non-specified in the training package. The equivalent developed skills in literacy and numeracy are required to meet industry standards.

Students can use the LLN Robot to ensure that they meet the literacy and numeracy requirements.
