About this course

The civil construction industry has many large projects underway in many regional areas and across WA.

This skill set will get you job ready to join a construction team or work as a trades assistant (TA), with a key focus on working safely on construction sites so that you can understand and follow mandatory work health and safety requirements in accordance with legislative requirements. This includes the safe use of electricity and identifying hazardous materials, as well as infection control and prevention procedures to ensure you're working safely and have an understanding of basic risk control measures and emergency procedures. White card certification is included with this skill set.

You'll also learn how to operate specialised equipment such as scissor and boom lifts and elevated work platforms (EWPs), undertake minor concreting and rendering tasks and perform minor repairs, undertake plumbing work on roofing structures, carry out levelling operations, and install trench support.
