About this course

This course will develop advanced knowledge and skills in business communication, business ethics, organisational security and enterprise IT management. It is designed to enable you to read, write, communicate and critically analyse higher level concepts and complex issues in a discipline specific context. You will further develop skills in reflective, autonomous and collaborative practices to successfully engage in learning and assessment activities at postgraduate level. An underlying philosophy of the course is that academic studies at postgraduate level is a social and contextual activity that requires developing appropriate attitudes and behaviours towards studying, fellow students and the wider academic community. The course will help you achieve the CDU graduate quality outcomes and reflect the values of CDU. Successful completion of this course allows you to begin the following courses at CDU: Master of Business Administration (Professional Practice), Master of Accounting (Professional Practice), Master of Information Technology (Cyber Security) and Master of Information Technology (Information Systems and Data Science). Students with an appropriate academic background and IELTS score of 6.0 with no band lower than 5.5 will be accepted into the Accelerated MQP course, which is one semester long. This semester is comprised of advanced skills in business, accounting and IT and academic studies at postgraduate level. Students with an appropriate academic background and IELTS score of 5.5 with no band lower than 5.5 will be accepted into the Standard MQP. The Standard MQP is two semesters long, and combines a first semester comprised of the Masters Preparation Program (MPP) course, with advanced English language skills appropriate to postgraduate level studies for the specific disciplines, and an additional semester of advanced skills in business, accounting and IT and academic studies at postgraduate level.

Entry requirements

To gain entry into Charles Darwin University, all Higher Education applicants must satisfy the University's English Language Proficiency Requirements for their chosen course of study. International applicants will be required to supply evidence of this at the time of application. The minimum English language requirement for this course is met by either undertaking previous education in an or undertaking one of the following English language tests and obtaining the minimum requirements listed below. * All tests are valid for two years from the date of the test to the date of commencement at CDU, unless otherwise specified. * Where applicable, international applicants must also satisfy the (DHA) English language requirements for student visa applications.
