About this course

This course provides Minimum Australian Context Gap training to holders of an Offshore Technical Skills Record (OTSR) for the UEE30811 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (or successor).

Australian citizens ineligible for the Trades Recognition Australia OTSR pathway may be eligible for entry to this course via the achievement of an Australian Technical Competencies Statement (ATCS).

On successful completion of this course and sufficient supervised employment, graduates may apply to either the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that delivered the 10809NAT Course in Electrician - Minimum Australian Context Gap or the RTO responsible for issuing the OTSR or ATCS for the issuance of a UEE30811 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (or successor).

On issuance of a UEE30811 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (or successor), graduates may apply to the relevant Australian state and territory licensing authority for an unrestricted Electrician Licence (or equivalent).

Entry requirements

To gain entry into the 10809NAT Course in Electrician - Minimum Australian Context Gap candidates are required to:

  • hold an Offshore Technical Skills Record (OTSR) or Australian Technical Competencies Statement (ATCS) for a UEE30811 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (or successor)
  • hold a provisional/restricted licence issued by the regulatory authority responsible for regulating electrical work and licensing of workers in the jurisdiction where the training will take place
  • be engaged (employed) as an electrical worker or have access to a workplace environment that replicates workplace conditions
  • hold a certificate of currency for resuscitation (CPR) within the last twelve months and can provide a certificate of currency
