This training program is designed to meet the diverse needs of the home tutor cohort in Central Australia and the Barkley region.
Students will be employed, which could be full-time or part-time, and live in remote parts of the NT.
There are no mandatory hours to complete this VTP, however, skills must be demonstrated in an approved education and care facility.
There are no mandatory entry requirements for this qualification. However, applicants who wish to commence this course need to have the required skills and knowledge to undertake the qualification at this level. For example, the completion of Year 10 or equivalent and a general command of spoken and written English to meet industry standards for communication.
Everyone employed or volunteering in child-related work is legally required to hold an Ochre Card. It will, therefore, be a mandatory requirement to have an Ochre Card to complete any work placement.
To achieve the vocational training program VTP523 - Gateway for Home Tutors in Isolated Areas a total of eight (8) units of competency must be completed as listed below.Students will be issued with a Statement of Attainment upon successful completion.
