The Graduate Diploma Renal Health Care is designed for registered nurses and midwifes who want to extend their knowledge and expand their scope of practice.

Through this course, you will synthesise the principles of equity, empowerment, and the socio-political determinants of health. It takes an inter-sectoral focus on the individual, family, and community access to renal health services.

The course will provide you with the opportunity to enhance and expand your:

  • clinical practice
  • knowledge and skills in renal healthcare
  • care delivery processes
  • clinical education, and
  • clinical management.

This course will expand on your current or recent experience within the health service, and you will undertake education and assessments that have a direct application to your current or future professional practice.

Entry requirements

Applicants are required to:

  • hold current registration as a registered nurse (Division 1) or registered midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • be currently employed in a renal related area and have worked in this field for at least 1 year at 0.4FTE, approximately 16 hours per week.
  • provide details of their employment in this field which should be completed at the time of submitting their application.
