This short course equips you with the skills and knowledge required in the agriculture, horticulture, and land management sectors including the following:

  • Prepare for, and carry out, and complete operational maintenance of machinery
  • Undertake pre-start checks, and operate, maintain, and shut down basic machinery and equipment in a simulated or real workplace

The course applies to individuals who operate basic machinery* and equipment to undertake routine work under general supervision with limited autonomy and accountability.

*Exceptions include chainsaws, tractors, vehicles, and earth-moving equipment.

No occupational licensing, legislative, or certification requirements apply to the units in this course at the time of publication.

Entry requirements

To enter VTP462 Maintenance, candidates are required to be aged 16 years or above.
