In Operate and Maintain Chainsaws course, you will learn how to safely use and maintain a chainsaw. This course is suitable for people with or without any experience in the industry. These industries could include conservation, horticulture, and agriculture.

This short course covers the following:

  • Operational maintenance of chainsaws
  • Chain selection and sharpening
  • Select and use required PPE
  • Cutting techniques for felled timber

Entry requirements

You must:

  • be 16 years or older; and
  • not be attending secondary school; and
  • be able to demonstrate appropriate language, literacy, and numeracy skills and knowledge to undertake this course. This is demonstrated if you have completed a qualification deemed equivalent to an Australian Year 11 or higher, Australian Certificate III or higher, or by completing a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) assessment.
