Admission requirements are met by one of the following:

• Successful completion of the Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (or equivalent) and the awarding of an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) of at least 70*.
• Successful completion of a national qualification at Certificate IV level or higher.
• Successful completion of at least 0.5 year of full-time study (or equivalent) of a higher education degree/diploma with a GPA of at least 3.
• Overseas secondary or tertiary qualifications considered equivalent to the above Australian qualifications.
• Attainment of a STAT Multiple Choice score of 147.
• Successful completion of the Tertiary Enabling Program, the Preparation for Tertiary Success courses, or other recognised tertiary preparation course of at least 12 months duration.
• Submission of an acceptable personal competencies statement and/or employment experience.

Those entering this qualification must be able to demonstrate vocational competence in their proposed training and assessing area. To gain entry into TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, candidates require:

• Digital skills to produce professional business documents to record practical activities and navigate online learning environment via Learnline
• Access to a computer with system requirements as detailed for Learnline
• Access to individual volunteers for simulated individual and groups training
• Access to individual volunteers for simulated assessing competency
• Access to TAE or assessor qualified volunteer

• To be physically fit, active and able to function effectively in a tropical environment, as this is a physically demanding course, and;
• Students must have a work contract with an approved employer to undertake a traineeship

To gain entry into AUR32420 Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology, candidates require:

• To be an Apprentice who has entered a Training Contract with their employer and Australian Apprenticeship Support Network NT.
• Understanding of basic computer skills, to navigate online learning materials and assessments.

Students will also need to wear work clothing suited to the automotive industry such as:

• Steel cap boots
• Safety glasses
• Protective clothing
• Respirator

There are no mandatory entry requirements however candidates who wish to commence this course need to have the required skills and knowledge to undertake the qualification at this level, e.g., completion of Year 10 or equivalent and a general command of spoken and written English to be able to meet industry standards for communication. A pre-assessment may be required.
