To gain entry into AHC51120 Diploma of Conservation and Ecosystem Management, it is advisable that students have:

• Completed AHC40920 Certificate IV in Conservation and Ecosystem Management or a relevant qualification; or
• Be employed in the conservation industry.
• Access to a suitable workplace to undertake workplace-based assessments and demonstrate ongoing application of skills and knowledge
• An equivalent Australian Year 12 certificate

Entry to this qualification is limited to those who:

Have completed the following units (or equivalent competencies):

• BSBHRM411 Administer performance development processes;
• BSBHRM412 Support employee and industrial relations;
• BSBHRM415 Coordinate recruitment and onboarding; and
• BSBHRM417 Support human resource functions and processes.

Equivalent competencies are predecessors to these units, which have been mapped as equivalent.

Have two years equivalent full-time relevant work experience.

A pre-enrolment interview will be conducted, and your lecturer will determine whether a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment is necessary to establish support requirements, or to meet eligibility requirements for VET Student Loans.

Admission requirements are met by one of the following:

• Successful completion of the Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (or equivalent) and the awarding of an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) of at least 60*.
• Successful completion of a national qualification at Certificate III level or higher.
• Successful completion of at least 0.5 year of full-time study (or equivalent) of a higher education degree/diploma.
• Overseas secondary or tertiary qualifications considered equivalent to the above Australian qualifications.
• Attainment of a STAT Multiple Choice score of 140.
• Successful completion of the Tertiary Enabling Program, the Preparation for Tertiary Success courses, or other recognised tertiary preparation course.
• Submission of an acceptable personal competencies statement and/or employment experience.
• Defence members with service of 1 year or more at the following ranks (or higher) meet the academic entry requirement for this course:
  • Navy: Seaman, Able Seaman, Leading Seaman
  • Air Force: Aircraftmen/Aircraftwoman, Leading Aircraftman/Aircraftwoman, Corporal
  • Army: Private, Lance Corporal, Corporal
• Current School Leaver Pathways:
  • Best of 3 Year 12 subject grades
  • School recommendation program

* After any applicable adjustment factors have been applied.

Students are to complete the LLN Robot Quiz and receive a minimum of Level 2 across all five areas, as those who wish to commence this course need to have the required skills and knowledge to undertake the qualification at this level and a general command of spoken and written English to be able to meet industry standards for communication in the education sector.

Students require a suitable workplace (either voluntary or paid) in which to undertake a placement.

Students are required to complete 100 hours of placement in a school. If the student is not currently working in a school, the University will organise the school for placement.

There are no entry requirements into ICT30120 Certificate III in Information Technology however the preferred pathways for candidates considering this qualification may include:

• Completion of ICT20120 Certificate II in Applied Digital Technologies, or other relevant qualifications.
• Demonstrated vocational experience in a range of work environments using information technologies.

Students will participate in a pre-enrolment interview/quiz to determine if they have the required LLN and Digital Literacy skills to successfully engage in the qualification and that the course selection is suitable.

Preferred pathways for candidates considering BSB40420 Certificate IV in Human Resource Management include:

• BSB30120 Certificate III in Business or other relevant qualifications and/or

• Demonstrated vocational experience in a range of IT work environments in a network support role, including administrator, manager, operations analyst, operations engineer/technician, or technician.

Students will participate in a pre-enrolment interview/quiz to determine if they have the required language, literacy and numeracy (LL&N) and digital literacy skills to successfully engage in the qualification and that the course selection is suitable.

• Completion of LLN Robot quiz, minimum of Level 3 across all five areas (Learning, Reading, Writing, Oral Communication and Numeracy)
• General command of spoken and written English to meet industry standards for communication in the Education sector
• Valid Working with children clearance (Ochre Card)
• Suitable workplace (paid or voluntary) to undertake placement of at least 100 hours of work in a classroom environment catering to primary or secondary school students. If the student is not currently working in a school, the University will organise a school for placement

While there is no qualification entry requirement, students will be expected to have employment in a relevant position in a commercial kitchen to satisfy the requirements of core unit SITHCCC043 Work effectively as a cook which requires students to complete 48 restaurant services.

Students must wear work clothing suited to the industry. The Training Restuarant is a simulated work environment, therefore closed-in shoes with non-slip soles are compulsory. Refer to the Resources section for a list of uniform and tools required to undertake this qualification.
