Develop the skills and knowledge to prepare and use chemicals to control weeds, pests and diseases as well as the requirements for the transport and storage of AgVet chemicals.
This three-day course involves two full-day theory sessions as well as a one day practical session. Students will also be required to undertake independent self-paced learning between the sessions as directed by their facilitator.
This course covers the nationally accredited units:
AHCCHM304 Transport and store chemicals
AHCCHM307 Prepare and apply chemicals to control pest, weeds and diseases
Upon successful completion of this course students will be registered with AusChem and will be eligible to apply for an Agricultural Users Permit (ACUP) from Agriculture Victoria.
Students are required to have sufficient English language skills to complete the qualification and the ability to understand and access online resources including chemical labels and safety data sheets.
For the theory session students will be required to provide their own rubber boots, full-length cotton clothing or overalls that can be buttoned at the neck and wrist, a washable hat and safety glasses.
Please note: International students are not eligible to enrol in this course.
