About this course

Build key foundational skills to work across mental health, alcohol and drug abuse support services. Chisholm's unique Undergraduate Certificate of Community Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs will give you the skills you need to provide non-clinical services to specialists such as psychiatrists, nurses and social workers. You'll also learn about the legal and ethical frameworks, and how these and other developmental considerations impact across the lifespan.

This program has been designed to meet the growing need for highly trained practitioners in the field. With direct input from stakeholders in areas of mental health and AOD, the Undergraduate certificate draws from the units in the first year of Chisholm's Bachelor degree, and has been developed in close consultation with practitioners, academics, professional bodies and policy makers at both state and federal government levels. This course is an ideal micro skills addition at a tertiary level, with relevance across a range of work settings.

If you are interested in studies in the Mental Health/AOD fields, but do not want to commit to a three year course, this Undergraduate certificate offers tertiary level learning and skills, with the awarding of an Undergraduate certificate at the successful completion of the course, and option to continue into the Bachelor studies program.

Applications are welcome from both local and interstate students that meet the entry requirements. This course will be delivered through zoom delivery and other online mediums.
