COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

The COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory to be eligible to attend a WIL placement for this course. Students will be required to provide evidence of having completed a COVID-19 vaccination schedule by the closing date prior to a WIL placement. The vaccine received must be a vaccine approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) of Australia.

Mandatory requirements - 500 clinical hours are required to complete to gain qualification. Students will be required to either be working in or have access to volunteering in relevant clinic, facility or organisation and have a suitably qualified supervisor from the that sector to sign you off on industry reports. These reports assess your ability to perform tasks in the workplace, they are referred to as '3rd party reports'. Some units within your course will require you to complete these workplace task and are identified in the assessment requirements for that unit.

Basic Key Skills Builder (BKSB) online literacy and numeracy assessment prior to enrolment, unless the student has completed an equal or higher level course.

Minimum age to apply is 17 years

Provide evidence of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Identity documentation.

This course is an Indigenous specific program that allows Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples to apply for identified positions within the Health sector like Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health worker or Practitioner.

When you apply for proof of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage through an Indigenous organisation, they will probably ask you to explain your heritage to their committee or to provide documentation/information that confirms your heritage. For this reason it's useful to find out as much as you can about your family history before you contact them. This is particularly important if you or your ancestors have been displaced from your heritage. This process can take some time, depending when the organisation has its meetings. A 'letter of confirmation' is usually obtained from an incorporated Indigenous organisation and must be stamped with their common seal.

This course is for traineeship training only.

Students must be employed within a Beauty salon or spa with the appropriately qualified supervisor/s.

During the sign-up process salons will be required to verify they can meet the training requirements required within individual units. Alternative arrangements can be made if any gaps are identified.

These reports assess your ability to perform tasks in the workplace, they are referred to as '3rd party reports'. Some units within your course will require you to complete these workplace task and are identified in the assessment requirements for that unit.

It is also highly recommended that students have completed Year 10 or equivalent.

Students are required to complete the bksb (Basic Key Skills Builder) online literacy and numeracy assessment prior to enrolment, unless the student has completed an equal or higher level course.

There are no entry requirements for MSL40118 Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques. It is strongly advised that students not currently working in industry complete MSL30118 Certificate III in Laboratory Skills prior to enrolling into MSL40118.

Students are required to have completed the literacy and numeracy assessment pre-enrolment in the form of the Basic Key Skills Builder online literacy and numeracy assessment or to have completed an equal or higher level course.

Students undertaking this course must be able to demonstrate vocational competency in their proposed teaching and assessment area. Vocational competency is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience and may include, but not limited to, holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification.

CQUniversity requires:

• completion of BKSB (Basic Key Skills Builder) online literacy and numeracy assessment prior to enrolment, unless the student has completed an equal or higher-level course.
• attendance in mandatory zoom workshops for the duration of the course
• all new students to commence with the Design units in Cluster 1

Completion of the bksb (Basic Key Skills Builder) online literacy and numeracy assessment is a requirement before the enrolment process. However, a student will be exempt from this assessment if they hold an equivalent or higher qualification. There are no other entry requirements specified

• WHS Representative training and fulfilling that role

• Undertaken short training courses (i.e. 1 day) - work specific WHS matters

• Having undertaken practical WHS tasks in the workplace related to implementing and/or monitoring WHS systems

Completion of the FNSSS00014 Accounting Principles Skill Set;

OR

Completion of FNS40217 Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping or equivalent; or its superseded versions (FNS40215 Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or FNS40615 Certificate IV in Accounting) or their equivalent.

Completion of the bksb (Basic Key Skills Builder) online literacy and numeracy assessment prior to enrolment, unless the student has completed an equal or high level course.

There are no other entry requirements for this course as listed by the training package.

A previous qualification in either Certificate III in Beauty Services or Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy will reduce the workload to upgrade to the Diploma of Beauty Therapy qualification.

You will also need regular and reliable access to the internet.

• a secondary qualification (Year 11 and 12, or equivalent), or
• tertiary diploma level qualification, or
• bachelor level qualification study for a period of at least 2 years fulltime with a minimum overall GPA 4.0 completed within Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom, South Africa, Ireland, or United States of America, which will meet the English proficiency.

• An International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic) overall band score of at least 5.5 overall with a minimum 5.0 in each subset; or
• Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - Requires 550 or better overall and minimum TWE score of 4.5 (Paper Based Test), or 65 or better overall and no score less than 15 (Internet Based Test); or
• An Occupational English Test with Grades A or B only in each of the four components; or
• Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) - Overall test score of 162 (with no individual band score of less than 154).; or
• Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) - Overall test score of 162 (with no individual band score of less than 154).; or
• Combined Universities Language Test (CULT) - 70% with no individual component score of less than 15.

Students may determine their own schedule based upon credit transfers and personal study requirements. It is important to note that full-time students usually enrol in 4 units per term and part-time students usually enrol in 2 units per term.
