• A secondary qualification (Year 11 and 12, or equivalent), or
• An Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) diploma level qualification, or
• Bachelor level qualification study for a period of at least 2 years full time with a minimum overall GPA 4.0

• An International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic) overall band score of at least 6.0 overall with a minimum 5.5 in each subset; or

Security RequirementsCourse years 2 - 4 include periods of clinical placement. Students must satisfy specific pre-clinical safety and security requirements prior to each placement and must disclose any condition that may put himself or herself, or the public, at significant risk whilst on placement. Students are required to meet all mandatory requirements to attend Clinical Placements and Clinical placements are a requirement for the award of the Degree. A student may be determined ineligible for placement based on the inability to perform required tasks or if the student may be determined a risk to clients, staff or other stakeholders. A student may be determined ineligible for placement if the placement site is unable to work within the constraints of any conditions or work modifications placed upon the work site by the State Health Department or Assessment Unit within a private organisation. If conditions imposed upon the placement are too restrictive for placement sites within the current offer round, the student is determined not fit for placement and is at risk of the University terminating enrolment in the degree. This is a hyperflexible course that is available 24/7 and 365 days a year to support the self-paced study by students.

Applicants must have all of the following:

• Current employment in maintenance engineering/maintenance/asset management; and
• An associate diploma or degree in engineering, technology or applied science OR
• an industry background, a trade qualification and demonstrated competence in the field of maintenance engineering/maintenance/asset management, with either:-
  • minimum 3 years relevant maintenance/asset management experience; OR
  • minimum 5 years relevant experience in maintenance engineering.

Notes:

1. Trade qualified applicants will be enrolled in the Graduate Certificate in Asset and Maintenance Management and will be allowed to progress to the Graduate Diploma of Asset and Maintenance Management only after they have successfully completed the Graduate Certificate.

2. Applicants who do not satisfy all of the above eligibility criteria but are currently employed in an industrial organisation in a maintenance engineering or asset/maintenance management-related role and have the support of their organisation, can apply and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

3. Applicants for individual units should apply for single, non-award enrolment and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

To be eligible for entry into this course, applicants must hold one of the following:

• A completed Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Bachelor degree, or higher equivalent qualification; or
• A completed AQF Diploma with two years relevant* business experience, or
• Five years relevant business* or managerial experience.

*Relevant business or managerial experience includes a working knowledge of how a business operates, for example, budgeting, staffing, project management, financial reporting, process management, or human resources.

Professional experience must be shown in a letter of employment which is presented on a company letterhead as well as signed and dated by a delegated authority. The letter must contain position title, duties performed and length of service.
