About this course

Outline Outline

Explore how cultural practices, institutions, social groups and lives are being transformed within the context of globalised communication and economic, political and environmental change. You'll study issues such as identity, family life, gender relations, language use, sustainability and development, social justice and human rights.

This specialisation will give you a unique set of skills to understand how contemporary local, national and regional cultures are impacted by and respond to processes of global change such as global migration, new modes of communication, and environmental transformation. It will also provide critical interdisciplinary strengths that will enhance any major.

What's a specialisation?

A specialisation is a set of four units you can choose to complement your course. Most Curtin courses allow you to choose a specialisation from any academic area. Humanities specialisations, like this one, can give a useful balance to a course from business, law, science, engineering or health disciplines. Learn more about specialisation
