Paramedics are vital members of all communities - from small towns to large cities - providing lifesaving and essential healthcare to others. Increasingly, paramedics are serving in diverse healthcare settings including in primary care, rural health and industrial health services. Graduates are therefore in demand across Australia, and are also highly regarded in the UK, US and other countries.
In this course, you will gain the knowledge and skills to work as a paramedic in Australia and internationally. Whether you are new to paramedicine or you want to further your current career in emergency services or healthcare, this course is for you.
Throughout the course you'll be taught by experienced paramedics with expertise in emergency ambulance settings, tactical operations, rescue services, rural/remote practice and industrial contexts. You'll gain the fundamental skills of out-of-hospital emergency care, including evidence-based clinical best practice, emergency and crisis management, and effective communication.
To acquire your practical skills efficiently, you'll utilise simulation laboratories and engage in high-fidelity simulation exercises. In addition, you'll complete work-integrated learning through clinical placements and simulation exercises with ambulance, emergency and healthcare services. You may also be able to participate in further optional training and agency placements.
Note that as this course is subject to quota, applications may be competitive.
