Mapping and Land Planning Minor will introduce the basics of geodata mapping (2D and 3D including data management and visualisation) as well as Land Planning. (3D) Mapping is a growing field and is relevant for many fields of study e.g. coastal marine science, agriculture science, mining, data science and the built environment.

What you'll learn
  • have demonstrated some knowledge and understanding in geodata mapping and land planning that is typically at a level supported by textbooks, but not necessarily at the forefront of the field.
  • can apply their knowledge and understanding in a manner that indicates a professional approach to the field and have developing competencies typically demonstrated through devising and sustaining arguments (to both specialist and non-specialist audiences) and solving straightforward problems within geodata mapping and land planning, including using digital technologies.
  • can gather and interpret relevant data within geodata mapping and land planning to inform judgements that include some reflection on relevant social, scientific, or ethical issues related to this field of study.
  • demonstrate a developing standard of professional behaviour, including effective time management, both independently and as a team member.
