To achieve a sustainable environment, engineers must be responsible for conserving natural resources and protecting the environment from global pollution to support public health and welfare. The Sustainable Environment Specialisation offers an opportunity for students to learn about the preservation of ecosystems and natural habitats, as well as the quantification and management of carbon emissions, and employ their problem-solving skills with case studies in the relevant environmental aspects. Students also learn the principles of Environmental, Social, and Governance, where they understand the public community's and government's roles in a broader sustainability context. Further, the students are taught the concept of sustainable urban planning and will apply their knowledge in designing sustainable solutions for real-world problems.
