The Earth and Environmental Science major provides students a flexible and personalised approach to studying fundamental aspects of Earth dynamics and its interplay with environmental science.

Measurement is the way to test theories, validate designs, and sense what is going on in the environment, while instrumentation is the devices used in obtaining the measurements.

Human factors is the science of people at work. It is concerned with understanding human capabilities and limitations, and applying this knowledge to areas such as the design of: equipment, systems, tools, workplace environment, and work processes.

This double degree major combines units from major international and other related disciplines. The major provides sufficient flexibility for students to combine business studies with language and cultural studies.

Offers an opportunity for engineers from other discipline areas to explore underpinning aspects of civil engineering and to develop a more nuanced appreciation of municipal works and civil engineering projects.

The explosion of embedded and connected smart devices, systems and technologies in our lives has created an opportunity to connect every 'thing' to the Internet.

Students will conduct an independent research project in the discipline(s) of environmental and marine science under the guidance of an academic supervisor, resulting in the preparation, submission, presentation and defense of a dissertation.

This specialisation is appropriate for students with an existing chemistry background and interest. It covers major chemical extraction processes and how ore characteristics govern process selection and operation.

The Power Systems Engineering extension specialisation is aimed to provide students with the essential knowledge in power systems. The specialisation is designed to reflect classical and emerging topics in power systems through contemporary pedagogical and active learning approaches.
