You will spend time in each year of your degree observing and working with students in school classrooms. You will develop your own teaching identity and learn how to use your own individual skills to support student learning.
You will develop a deep understanding of childhood development, educational theories and practice. You will also learn how to engage children in innovative and purposeful learning. Along with the compulsory education courses, you will have the option of a range of discipline specific electives.
Primary Specialisation options include: English, Mathematics, Science or Inclusive Education with a focus on English, Science or Mathematics
The new Inclusive Education stream will open up your career choices, giving you the opportunity to pursue special education.
You will be learning and developing classroom skills from your first semester of study, completing a minimum of 80 days of supervised teaching practice during the four years of your degree. Completing this course will qualify you to teach primary students up to Year 6.
