The Master of Engineering (Mechanical) provides both core and optional advanced topics such as Solid Mechanics, Control Systems, Applied Thermo-Fluid Dynamics, Mechanics of Machines, Renewable Energy, Advanced Mechanical Design, Finite Element Methods, Fatigue and Fracture, Materials Selection, Project Management & Innovation and Standards and Ethics.

This course provides a variety of significant project work. Examples include: Mechanical Design Project (through the national Warman Design & Build Competition), and the Master's Thesis Project that may tackle an industry-relevant problem or a research question. It also includes a project-based topic "Advanced Mechanical Design" together with a 12-week industry placement.
