Graduate Certificate

Applicants must normally hold an approved bachelor degree or equivalent qualification. Applicants who hold the former Diploma of Applied Science (Developmental Disabilities) from Flinders University will also be considered.

Masters

Applicants to the Master of Disability Policy and Practice (1.5 years) must normally hold an approved bachelor degree in Disability or equivalent qualification; or hold an approved four-year bachelor degree in a discipline closely related to Disability and have a minimum of two years' full-time equivalent relevant professional work experience; or hold an Honours degree in Disability or a closely related discipline or equivalent qualification; or hold a Graduate Certificate in Disability Studies or in a closely related discipline from Flinders University or equivalent qualification.

Applicants to the Master of Disability Policy and Practice (2 years) must normally hold an approved bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in a disability-related discipline; or hold the Graduate Certificate in Disability Studies from Flinders University.

Graduate Certificate

Entry Requirements

Graduate Certificate

Applicants for the graduate certificates must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution. Applicants for the Graduate Certificate in Aged Care Administration and Graduate Certificate in Health Administration must have at least two years’ professional experience in the health or aged care sector following completion of their approved degree or equivalent qualification. Applicants without a degree, who have extensive work experience in the health or aged care sectors and are able to supply documentary evidence, may also be accepted for entry.

Graduate Diploma

Applicants for the graduate diploma must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution. Applicants for the Graduate Diploma in Health Administration must have at least two years’ professional experience in the health or aged care sector following completion of their approved degree or equivalent qualification. Applicants without a degree, who have extensive work experience in the health or aged care sectors and are able to supply documentary evidence, may also be accepted for entry.

Masters

Applicants for the masters degrees must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution. Applicants for the Master of Health Administration and the Master of Science (Health Administration) must have at least four years’ professional experience in the health or aged care sector following completion of their approved degree or equivalent qualification. Graduates of the Flinders Graduate Certificate in Aged Care Administration, Graduate Certificate in Health Administration and Graduate Diploma in Health Administration may also be accepted for entry to the Master of Health Administration once they have gained at least four years’ professional experience.

In accordance with the Australian Nursing Midwifery Council Standards and Criteria for the accreditation of Nursing and Midwifery Courses, applicants must:

*Advanced nursing practice (ANP): ANP is a continuum along which nurses develop their professional knowledge, clinical reasoning and judgement, skills and behaviours to higher levels of capability (that is recognisable). Nurses practising at an advanced level incorporate professional leadership, education and research into their clinically based practice. Their practice is effective and safe. They work within a generalist or specialist context and they are responsible and accountable in managing people who have complex health care requirements.

Advanced nursing practice is a level of practice and not a role. It is acknowledged that advanced nursing practice is specific to the individual within their context of practice.

Graduate Diploma

Entry Requirements

Applicants must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution and have achieved a grade point average (GPA) of 5.00 (credit) or greater.

Admission to the course is subject to the approval of your project, the college being able to provide appropriate resources, and the discipline area being able to provide suitable supervision for the program of study. Search for a supervisor.

This course is unavailable in psychology due to accreditation and topic prerequisites.

Applicants will be required to submit directly to the University a research statement form for the 18-unit research thesis/ project component. Please complete the Graduate Diploma in Research Methods research statement form (DOCX) outlining your proposed area.
