Bachelor
Nursing is the art and science of professional caring and offers opportunities to promote and restore health, prevent illness and alleviate suffering. Griffith's Bachelor of Nursing degree provides an opportunity for Diploma qualified registered nurses to upgrade their qualifications and skills. This program offers an entry pathway to registered nurses from Singapore and surrounding countries who hold registration with the Singapore Nursing Board as a registered nurse. In this degree, key skills related to evidence-based practice will be developed that support the provision of safe, person-centred nursing care. The student will learn about topics such as contemporary nursing, leadership and management, research, health law and ethics, professional communication, health assessment, clinical teaching and care of older people. Our graduate nurses are equipped with the practical skills, experience and attributes that employers value. As a graduate, the nurse will be provided with appropriate knowledge and skills to be able to work competently and ethically within all health service environments supporting patients, families and communities. These could include paediatrics, school health, adolescence, general practice, acute, medical and surgical care settings, emergency and critical care, mental health, aged care and palliative care settings. Degree qualified nurses in Singapore have a more clearly identified career path with additional opportunities for roles in management, education and clinical supervision.
