The Diploma of Music is a pathway program designed to help you transition into the Bachelor of Music. You'll develop foundational knowledge and skills in a supportive learning environment, setting you up for success in your future studies.

Situated in Queensland's vibrant cultural precinct, the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University at South Bank is acoustically and architecturally unparalleled in Australia. Study with a community of like-minded peers as you learn from award-winning music educators and benefit from the Queensland Conservatorium's strong partnerships with local cultural institutions.

You'll study academic foundations courses to develop a strong foundation in topics like exploring music, performance study, 'my life as a musician', as well as studio courses, and where relevant, Conservatorium Ensemble Studies, with additional support and access to a dedicated First Year Coordinator and Peer-Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) run by high-achieving students.

Guaranteed Admission Scheme

This degree is excluded from the Guaranteed Admission Scheme.

Selection of applicants for the Conservatorium's programs is based on various requirements which may include satisfactory results in an audition, interview and presentation of folio.

Applications for audition and admission are made through the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC).

Note: Applicants are not permitted to defer an offer. Should you be unable to accept an offer, you must re-apply for entry in the following year.

Applications may be considered outside normal admission periods on a case-by-case basis.

This information will be included in your Starting@Griffith email and expressed in the number of days from the day of issue of your email. For QTAC applicants this is inline with the offer response date in your offer email, however Griffith accepts close of business that day - 5pm (AEST). Please note that the number of days can vary depending on when the offer was made. This requirement applies to all applicants irrespective of how you applied and/or whether you accepted conditionally or unconditionally. If you do not enrol* into at least one class for your program by 5pm on the response day your offer will lapse. Lapsed offers are not automatically reinstated and are subject to available places.
