This program provides students with advanced study in engineering project management. It is designed to extend and deepen the knowledge and skills gained from an undergraduate degree in engineering.
Entry Requirements

To be eligible for admission to Master of Engineering Project Management Advanced, a student must hold:

  • a Bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent three year or four year Engineering undergraduate degree from a recognised university (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing)
  • OR a Bachelor Honours degree in Engineering or equivalent four year Engineering undergraduate degree from a recognised university (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing)
  • OR a Graduate Certificate in Engineering Project Management.

Students admitted to the program with a Bachelor Honours degree in Engineering or equivalent four year Engineering undergraduate degree or a Graduate Certificate in Engineering Project Management will be eligible for 40 credit points of advanced standing towards the program. The following degrees are considered to be equivalent to a Bachelor Honours degree in Engineering:

  • four year Engineering undergraduate degree that includes a significant final year research project component (one semester thesis) from an Australian university;
  • four year Engineering undergraduate degree that includes a significant final year research project component (one semester thesis) from a NOOSR Section 1 University.

Note: Students currently enrolled in the Master of Engineering Project Management (5660) will be eligible to transfer to the Master of Engineering Project Management Advanced prior to graduation. Graduates of the Master of Engineering Project Management (5660) are not eligible for admission to this program.

This Honours program has been designed to enable students who have demonstrated substantial ability at an undergraduate level to develop advanced levels of studio practice, supporting theory and an advanced level of research understanding.
Entry Requirements

The University's Bachelor Honours Degree (AQF Level 8) Policy will apply.

To be eligible for admission to this Honours program, consideration will be given to the following criteria:

  • A GPA of at least 5.0 (credit level) over the second and third year of the Bachelor degree;*
  • have achieved a GPA of at least 5.0 in the major studio components of the second and third years of the undergraduate degree
  • have completed 30 credit points in theory in the second and third years of the undergraduate degree with a GPA of at least 5.0
  • A suitable Research Proposal (please see questions in the QCA Undergraduate Honours Admissions Guide) and the resources available to support the candidature. This proposal should include a portfolio containing images of relevant work and demonstrate a strong and sustained studio practice (please see criteria in the QCA Undergraduate Honours Admissions Guide).
  • The availability of an appropriate proposed supervisor. The confirmation of your Supervisor will be approved upon entry into the program. At times, where the nominated Supervisor is no longer able to supervise the project, a suitable Supervisor with be allocated by the Honours Program Director.   • The preparedness of the applicant to undertake the degree in terms of the elapsed time since the prospective candidate qualified for the award of a Bachelor degree and the academic preparation provided by the Bachelor's degree for the candidate's proposed Dissertation topic.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Speech Pathology, a student must have:

  • completed an undergraduate degree (not in speech pathology) with a minimum GPA of 5.0 using a 7-point scale (studies must have been completed within ten years prior to the commencement of the trimester to which a student is applying and whilst there are no prerequisite study areas for admission, desirable areas include: Psychology; Health Science; Public Health; Medical Science; Human Services; Education; Linguistics) and
  • satisfactory performance in an interview with a Speech Pathology academic staff member.

Admission will not normally be granted for an undergraduate degree that has been completed more than ten years prior to the time of application for admission. If studies were completed more than ten years prior to the time of application, applicants must have:

  • completed an undergraduate degree (not in speech pathology)* and
  • completed a minimum of 40 credit points (equivalent to Bachelor degree level or above) at a higher education institution within ten years of applying for admission with a GPA of at least 5.0 and
  • satisfactory performance in an interview with a Speech Pathology academic staff member.

OR

  • completed an undergraduate degree (not in speech pathology)* with a GPA of at least 5.0 and
  • completed a minimum of three years full-time equivalent professional experience within the five years prior to the commencement of the trimester to which a student is applying (examples of relevant experience include Health, Education, Psychology, Disability Services, Human Services, Social Work) and can demonstrate the ability to undertake postgraduate study by providing:
    • a curriculum vitae and
    • a summary of relevant skills applicable to speech pathology (maximum two pages) and
    • an employer's reference and
    • satisfactory performance in an interview with a Speech Pathology academic staff member.

* Whilst there are no prerequisite study areas for admission, desirable areas include: Psychology; Health Science; Public Health; Medical Science; Human Services; Education; Linguistics.

Graduate Diploma

This program meets one of the knowledge requirements of becoming a registered Migration Agent in Australia. The Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority (OMARA) recognises Griffith University as a provider of the Graduate Diploma of Australian Migration Law and Practice.
Entry Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Diploma of Australian Migration Law and Practice, an applicant must hold:

  • a Bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (on a 7-point scale) OR
  • a Graduate Certificate in Australian Migration Law and Practice with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (on a 7-point scale).

Where an applicant holds a Bachelor degree but does not have a minimum GPA of 4.0, they may (in selected circumstances) apply to waive the GPA requirement on the basis of five years work experience in a related field. In these circumstances, the applicant must supply evidence of relevant professional registration or vocational experience in a related field. Such applicants, who will normally have worked in middle management positions for a minimum of five years, will be required to provide references from their employers attesting to their ability to complete the program. In these cases, the Program Director will make the final decision and must be satisfied as to the applicant's ability to complete such a program of study

Entry Requirements

For admission to the Master of Education and Professional Studies Research, an applicant is required to hold:

  • a postgraduate qualification with a GPA of at least 5.0 in a related discipline
  • OR a bachelor degree with at least Second Class Honours (Division B) in a related discipline.

In addition to the academic qualifications required for candidature as described above, the following criteria need to be satisfied for admission:

  • the proposed topic is appropriate for higher degree research and consonant with the academic aims and objectives of the School of Education and Professional Studies;
  • the School of Education and Professional Studies is able to provide the necessary research place, supervision, resources and facilities and there is an appropriate fit between the applicant, research environment, available resources and supervision;
  • there are two qualified members of staff holding confirmed, continuing or fixed-term appointments of sufficient length for the purposes of supervision;
  • the proposed program of work can be completed within the maximum period of candidature for the degree;
  • the proposed research does not reproduce research that has previously been submitted for the award of a degree or diploma;
  • the proposed program conforms to the University's ethical guidelines on research involving humans and animals;
  • where the intellectual property rights of the applicant may be a consideration, a suitable agreement protecting the rights of the student has been signed - should a student be unwilling to sign an agreement, the research proposal may not be approved and the student may be required to choose another program of study;
  • the provision of educational services consequent upon approval of the application for candidature will not expose the University to a risk of contravening any applicable law including any international embargoes, sanctions or controls which regulate the University's operations from time to time.

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Diploma of Research Studies in Science, a student must:

  • hold an undergraduate degree in a related discipline from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum Grade Point Average of 5.0 (using a 7.0 point scale) over the last two years of the Bachelor degree

  • there is a qualified member of staff holding confirmed, continuing or fixed term appointments of sufficient length for the purposes of supervision.

  • the proposed topic is appropriate for higher degree research and consonant with the academic aims and objectives of the pathway selected

  • the Pathway Advisor is able to provide the necessary research place, supervision, resources and facilities; and there is an appropriate fit between the applicant, research environment, available resources and supervision
  • the provision of educational services consequent upon approval of the application for candidature will not expose the University to a risk of contravening any applicable law, including any international embargoes, sanctions or controls which regulate the University's operations from time to time, and
