Certificate
The Certificate II in Applied Fashion Design and Technology is designed to develop foundational knowledge and skills to understand the design process, from concept to production, in a fashion industry context.
This is a VET Delivered to Secondary School course and can only be completed as part of a VCE or VCAL program.
Learners must be enrolled as a VCE or VCAL learner at a Victorian Secondary School. Secondary schools are responsible for allocating students, who will need to meet LLN requirements of the course.
Learners should discuss their VET course selection and application with their school careers adviser and leadership team prior to enrolling to ensure they have selected the right VETDSS discipline.
This course is a starting point if you are interested in further study and a career in the fashion design field, in a variety of different areas. These could include fashion design, pattern making and drafting, production, marketing or styling.
The course provides an introductory overview of fashion design, which may lead to employment opportunities producing fashion products where a basic understanding of design skills is required. It is particularly suitable for those who aspire to start their own small fashion business, or undertake repairs and alterations for themselves or others.
While on campus, learners will have access to the Adobe Design software.
