Certificate
The Certificate II in Applied Fashion Design and Technology is the perfect starting point for anyone who loves fashion, or working with fabric and design, and who would like a career in the fashion industry.
Minimum age requirement 17 year and older and must have completed year 11.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and attend a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan and identify any learning support needs.
This course provides an introductory overview of the fashion design and production process. You will learn how to create fashion illustrations, both by hand and digitally, put together colour and fabric proposals, modify patterns and designs, and make garments.
You will learn all of these skills from industry professionals, in purpose-built, industry-standard facilities, using the latest industrial equipment.
At the end of this course, you will have a folio of fashion design work suitable to use in interviews for a variety of fashion design courses, from certificate, through to diploma and degree level.
You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.
