Certificate
The Certificate II in Engineering Studies pre-apprenticeship program is designed to provide pre-employment training and a pathway into the an Engineering Apprenticeship, or can be used to gain the skills required for entry level employment in the engineering manufacturing related industries.
To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years of age.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview,
These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.
The course is delivered face to face, online and in our simulated workplace workshop providing access to the tools and equipment used in today's industry.
This course will provide you with a range of skills such as welding, basic machining, fabrication, and use of basic hand and power tools, as well as engineering drawing techniques using Engineering software AutoCAD.
You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.
