Certificate
The Certificate III in Cabinet Making will give you a range of skills and knowledge in installing kitchens, bathrooms, and other furniture and cabinetry, providing comprehensive training in cabinet making.
There are no prerequisites in this program
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training the student will be required to
complete a literacy and numeracy assessment (BKSB) and a pre-training review interview. These will assist with determining suitability for the course,
variations to the training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

You will learn to use a range of specialist machinery including CNC machining and processing centres (rail and flat-bed, as well as preparing and working from computer-aided drawings and associated cutting lists.
In regards to each machine, you will learn about the material you are processing and how to use the machine itself - from basic to high-end production machinery such as computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines.
You will be taught the correct setup, operational, basic maintenance, troubleshooting of machining and construction methods for the Kitchen, Bathroom, and Furniture making the process.
There are two possible specialist streams in this qualification:
Stream 1: Kitchen Bathroom
Stream 2: Furniture
You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.
