Certificate
The Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician is the course you need to complete before you can sit for Energy Safe Victoria's Electrician's Licence and provides the background knowledge and skills required for successful work in the electrical industry.
As a licensed electrician, you will be able to work on all types of electrical installations, which include the wiring of all commercial, residential and industrial installations.
You will also have the responsibility for the maintenance of electrical equipment throughout the industry.
To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years of age.
Holmesglen requires all applicants to be engaged in an Electrical Apprenticeship. You must be signed up as an Apprentice with your chosen employer and have a Delta number stating Holmesglen is your selected training provider.
It is recommended that applicants have completed Year 11 or equivalent and have a minimum of Year 10 English and Mathematics.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.
This program offers 2 study streams: Grid Connected PV offering you the skills to work with Renewable Energy and Solar systems, and Telecommunications stream. Contact the department for more details about the program pathways.
You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.
