The Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade is an Apprenticeship program for apprentices employed in the metal, engineering fabrication, manufacturing or associated industries with engineering fabrication work.
To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years of age.
You must be registered in an engineering apprenticeship arrangement with an employer in the metal, engineering, manufacturing and associated industries.
Holmesglen recommends all applicants have a minimum of Year 10 English and Mathematics.
As a requirement for this program, the learner must be engaged in an Engineering Apprenticeship within the metal, engineering, manufacturing and associated industries or other industries where Engineering Tradespersons - Fabrication work.
The course gives you fundamental knowledge and the practical skills and experience needed to become a qualified engineering fabrication tradesperson.
Throughout the Apprenticeship program, you will learn a range of skills to perform metal fabrication work, including; welding principles and techniques, safe working practices, structural steel fabrication and repair, sheet-metal work, pipework, using computer controlled equipment and computer aided drafting skills using AutoCAD.
You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.
