This fast-track version of the Certificate III in Sports Turf Management is designed for people working in the industry. It allows you to formalise your knowledge and skills with a qualification..
To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years of age.
Applicants must have been working in the sports turf management industry for a minimum of three years.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs. All applicants are interviewed for selection by the Education Manager.
You will learn skills in the establishment and maintenance of recreational turf, the preparation of sports playing surfaces, and the management of recreational and sports turf facilities.
You will also learn how to provide advice on turf irrigation, pest and disease control, and management practices.
You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.
