Certificate
The Certificate III in Tourism provides secondary school students with a foundation for a career in the fast-growing, dynamic industry of travel and tourism. Students will learn how to prepare quotes, source airfares for domestic flights, provide domestic and international destination information, plus how to provide excellent customer service and follow safe work practices.
When undertaking the course, you must be enrolled as a VCE or VCE (VM) student at a Victorian secondary school.
The VET in Secondary School coordinator at your school will determine you ability to undertake this training. You must be in Years 10-12.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview.
These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.
This course is a VET Delivered to Secondary School Students and can only be completed as part of your VCE or VPC program.
You will learn about Australian and international destinations, tourism products and services, and how to sell and quote to clients. You will use an industry booking system to book flights and issue domestic air tickets.
Upon graduating successfully, you may receive credits towards your VCE or VPC. You can then enhance your career opportunities with further studies in travel and tourism.
